Pesticides and Residues
With state-of-the-art instrumentation, commodity specific multi-residue screens, and a team of experienced analysts, we offer testing results with confidence. We are ISO 17025:2017 accredited lab, and also hold accreditations with TNI, ORELAP, CDPHE. We offer routine testing as well as troubleshooting issues with your crop. Let us know how we can help you with your testing needs.
MultiResidue Screens
For broad pesticide screening, the Columbia Pesticide Profile (P2220) is the most comprehensive and economical profile in food and agricultural commodities.
COMMON COMMODITY PROFILES
In addition to our general-purpose screen, Columbia Laboratories specializes in pesticide screens and other groups of tests designed for specific commodities. Our customers often are key partners in the design of these profiles.
- P2220 Multi-Residue Pesticide Profile
- P3200 Onion Profile
- P2401 Potato Profile
- P3100 Hop Profile
- P2451 Mint Oil and Leaf Profile
DAMAGE PROFILES
Agricultural commodities may require testing before, during, after harvest due to signs of stress or damage. We have developed a specific testing to help you investigate issues with a crop including vegetation, water and soil samples.
- P2750 Herbicides screen
- Polar Pesticide such as Glyphosate (roundup) and Glufosinate
Maximum Residue Levels for Your Market
Food products which will be exported to other countries must meet their pesticide MRL standards. We are able to help by displaying these MRL’s on your report. Most countries will perform their own testing on imported food products. However, if a violative residue can be detected before shipping, much expense can be avoided as a result of having the shipment rejected.
As you get results on specific residues, we will keep you aware of the acceptable levels of those residues in major global markets and the implications of results that exceed the MRL for your particular markets. Demand for comprehensive pesticide residue analysis for growers, processors and organic certifiers continues to expand as testing requirements for both domestic and export markets increase.
Other Residues Outside General Pesticide Screen
- Glyphosate and its metabolite AMPA
- Glufosinate
- Chlorate/Perchlorate
- Dithiocarbamates
- Methyl Bromide
- Maleic Hydrazide
- Ethephon
- Aminopyralid
- Metam-sodium (Methyl Isothiocyanate)
- Diquat/Paraquat
- Fosetyl Aluminum
Residual Solvents
Solvents, alcohol and reagents are essential to consumer goods processing, however, are regulated as harmful residuals with acceptable action limits.
GENERAL PROFILES FOR A VARIETY OF SAMPLE TYPES:
- Residual Solvents, USP 467
- Residual Solvents, Comprehensive
Mycotoxins
Mycotoxins are carcinogenic biproducts of mold. They concentrate and are pervasive through processing. If mycotoxins are consumed, humans and animals can suffer severe illness and even death. Test for mycotoxins in food, feed, and cannabis commodities since they are likely to be stored under warm and humid conditions. Applicable for any botanical that can grow mold. We offer validated, accredited testing by LC-MS/MS to meet your testing needs.
