Melissa Jackson, QA manager for all departments at Columbia Laboratories since 2018, has earned her Quality Auditor Certification from ASQ on April 20, 2021.
The certification verifies that Jackson “is a professional who understands the standards and principles of auditing and the auditing techniques of examining, questioning, evaluating and reporting to determine a quality system’s adequacy and deficiencies,” according to the ASQ web site.
It’s a major accomplishment with stringent requirements, such as 8 years on the job experience, and at least three years at a decision-making level.
“I’m thankful for this opportunity for professional development,” Jackson said. “I learned valuable tools to audit more effectively and the course reinforced the value of internal auditing within your organization.”
In addition to earning her CQA this spring, Melissa also implemented a new QC system at CL, Qualtrax, and works closely with the management team to improve QC and traceability. Melissa is passionate about consumer safety and has a BS in Botany from Oregon State University.
“Columbia Laboratories stands proudly behind our value for Quality Assurances and are honored to have Melissa Jackson lead the program,” aid Derrick Tanner, GM at Columbia Labs. “She continues to take on challenging opportunities for improvement and efficient implementation.”
Columbia Laboratories serves the consumer goods market with comprehensive food safety testing and advanced cannabis testing.
